Please read the below mention important key element carefully and understand how a Prospective adoptive Parents (PAPs) can adopt a child :
1. Online referral of child (normal health status) as per their seniority (Please see procedure in link Click here).

2. Direct reservation of child (normal health status) from ‘7 days for RI/NRI/OCI PAPs’ tab irrespective of their seniority.
3. Direct reservation of child (normal health status) from ‘Immediate Placement’ tab irrespective of their seniority.
4. Direct reservation of child (special needs status) from ‘Special Needs Children’ tab irrespective of their seniority.
Documents to be uploaded within 30 days w.e.f. the date of registration on CARINGS Portal -:
As per Schedule VI Part- 1 of Adoption Regulations 2022, the following documents are required to be uploaded within 30 days w.e.f. the date of registration on CARINGS Portal -
(i). Current family photograph or photograph of person adopting a child.
(ii). Aadhaar Card or Passport or Voter card or driving license of the prospective adoptive parents or Birth Certificate or Overseas Citizen of India card of the prospective adoptive parents (if applicable) and PAN card (if applicable).
(iii). Birth certificate or Proof of date of birth of the parents (In the event of a married couple, upload the applicant’s respective birth certificates.)
(iv). Proof of residence (Aadhaar Card or voter card or passport or current electricity bill or telephone bill)
(v). Proof of income of last year (salary slip or income certificate issued by Govt. department or income-tax return).
(vi). Certificate from a medical practitioner certifying that the prospective adoptive parents do not suffer from any chronic contagious or fatal disease and they are fit to adopt (in the event of a married couple, upload the applicant’s respective medical certificates).
(vii). Marriage certificate or Divorce Decree or Declaration from the competent court or affidavit on oath pertaining to divorce in case of divorce governed by personal law where decree of divorce is not mandatory or Death certificate of spouse whichever is applicable.
(viii). Undertaking from the relative in case single prospective adoptive parents (if applicable).
(ix). Consent of the older child or children in the adoptive family.
(x). If PAPs change their preference related to gender of the child.
